Dr. Adnan Saithna is a is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder care.
Dr. Saithna is an internationally renowned knee and shoulder surgeon with excellent clinical results. He was recently featured in the British media for operating on an athlete who went on to win three gold medals in the National Gymnastics Championships. He has a great passion for orthopedic sports medicine that was born out of his experience of sports injury during his own athletic career and his desire to improve the outcomes of patients who suffer orthopedic injuries. This passion has led to world leading research that has received global recognition and multiple awards including the King James IV Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. This award recognizes surgeons “who have made a significant contribution to the clinical and/or scientific basis of surgery over an extended period of their consultant career and have acquired a National or International reputation.”
Adnan is an Honorary Professor at the School of Science and Technology at Nottingham Trent University, UK, and a member of the adjunct clinical faculty of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He has over 130 publications, several of which have been amongst the most read articles published in leading sports medicine journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is internationally recognized as a leader in orthopedic research and has current research collaborations with the FIFA center for medical excellence in Lyon, France and centers of excellence in Italy, Japan and Brazil.
Adnan prides himself on delivering the highest standards of care with a compassionate and patient-centered approach. Having experienced sports injury and orthopedic surgery himself, he has a unique insight into the frustrations and fears associated with being a patient and this is reflected in his reputation for taking the time to carefully listen to his patients and make a management plan specifically optimized for their individual circumstances.
Dr Saithna has relocated from the UK to join Sano because of his strong belief in the core values of the group.

Interests & Hobbies
Adnan has a particular interest and empathy with the management of injured athletes. He has the unique insight of having competed at a high level and dealt with setbacks through sports-injuries himself. He held a sports scholarship for Ironman Triathlon while at medical school and continues to compete in road racing and cycling time trials. In 2012 he cycled the full route of the Tour de France (approximately 3,500km) one day ahead of the professional race in order to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. This resulted in Adnan and the team being honored in the Independent on Sunday (UK National Press) Happy List which names “100 outstanding people whose volunteering, caring, fundraising, mentoring, charity founding or selflessness makes Britain a more contented, supportive, better-adjusted and happier place”.
Adnan has recently moved to Kansas City, with wife Gia, to join the Sano team and they are already big fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Royals and life in KC!
